i got an error using this function to set the gain of my SCXI 1520 can't i use this function to set the gain?
or is it just a function to read the gain?

Hello,

What error are you getting exactly? The gain is actually set indirectly through input limits.

You may want to take a look at Page 1-18 and 1-19(top half portion) of the SCXI-1520 user manual.
