scxi-1102B stairstep

I am scanning 16 TC's and 8 AC current shunts with scxi-1102B to obtain multiple samples and perform RMS on currents. If scanning single channel, temperatures are stable within expected noise level. When scanning all channels, temps have extreme 5deg steps (temp level is 80 to 150 degF) lasting several seconds. Steps are absolutely flat, no change at all, then channel comes alive, reads a while, then goes flat again. This is more pronounced when temperature is changing rapidly, and is worse with larger temp span. Less gain=larger steps, more gain=less steps, but the steps are MUCH larger than system resolution regardless of gain. The steps occur at predictable temperatures whether temp is increasing or decreasing. I have single reading scanned and
buffered scanned pulling multiple channels and averaging, and the behavior remains.

Hello Jim,

Usually when a problem like this occurs, it is caused by the settling time of the amplifier on the DAQ board. The steps are usually the result of ghosting caused by another channel.

A good way to test if this is the problem is to try sampling at a much slower rate such as 10 to 100Hz. Try sampling at a slower rate to see if the problem disappears.
