Hi,
I have transducer which is of coil type. Usually, this transducer is used in a closed system. But now, I will connect it to my national instruments. What kind of is suitable for this purpose ?
Thank you.

It will ultimately depend on what type of transducer you have. What do you mean by coil type? Is it a LVDT? Or is it electroacoustic? If the transducer outputs a voltage, then the NI SCC-A10 might work, but without some more info/the owner's manual for the transducer, it is tough to make a suggestion. Here is a link to our signal conditioning webpage, if you haven't already visited it:

This will be a good starting point for finding the correct SCC module for your hardware setup.
Let us know if you need any further assistance!

It sounds like the needle lift transducer is a position-sensor, similar to a LVDT, which requires a voltage. What you really need to look at is what the transducer requires/outputs. If it outputs a voltage, there are two voltage SCC modules - the SCC-A10 and the SCC-AO10. I would recommend calling and speaking with one of our technical sales representatives so that they can direct you to the correct SCC module for your particular hardware setup. Based on what you have mentioned thus far, it sounds like either of the above mentioned SCC modules will work, but there are more factors to consider. When you call in, the representative will know exactly what you need based on your application.
Best of luck to you!

Hi Garry,
I want to explain more detail about the needle lift(transducer). This transducer has to monitor when the injection take place during the running of an engine. I believe that this has the same work principal as LVDT transducer. But there are only two cables which come out from the tranducer. Usually LVDT has four cables (1 pair for excitation, another pair for the signal). More over there should be additional equipment employed between transducer and reading device, called FM INDUCTOR.
Actually I have made picture of both the transducer and FM inductor but I have difficulty to send with this mail.

It sounds like there is more information here that needs to be considered. I would again encourage you to call our Technical Sales Department @ (888) 280-7645 to discuss your application and find the best suitable device. There are a lot of questions to consider and it would be easiest to perform this over the phone.
However, for your reference, you can go to our DAQ page here to help narrow down product results that might best suit your application.
All the best!
