Hi. How can I generate six periods of sine signal? I have NI-PCI 5401, so I can´t use arbitrary sequence. Thanks!

Hi
I think you can do it using scripted generation. Another idea is to use the sweep function, where you'd sweep between the same frequencies (or very close ones).
Those are just 2 quick ideas. Let me know if you think anyone could work. If they don't I'll get more into it and try to help you more.
Best regards

Hello. The 5401 is a Function Generator so it has no script mode, nor any arbitrary waveform functionality.
You may be able to do what you're trying to do by using Frequency List Mode: You generate a frequency, say 1 Hz for a duration of six seconds. This will give you six cycles.
Now, given the restrictions on what precise frequencies the instrument can generate and the granularity of the frequency step duration that the instrument can achieve, you may or may not be able to get exactly six cycles. It depends on the frequency of the sine tone you want.
Hope this helps.
