Low power level at PXI5670 RFSG output

Hi,

I m getting low RF powerlevel output at (PXI - 5670) RFSG RF output. i have configured +0dBm power level at RFSG test panel & getting only -50dBm at RF ouput of RFSG. i have attached the Screenshot for this issue.Kindly refer it & reply ASAP.Thanx in advance.

Hello Logesh,

Have you attempted this test on other frequencies and power levels? I would suggest verifying the behavior exists over the following settings:

  • Several frequencies in the 250 kHz - 2.7 GHz range of the PXI-5670.
  • Several power levels between the +10 dBm to -145 dBm power range.

I would also verify that the output of the PXI-5421 is at the appropriate power level. Try outputting a 0 dBm (632mV peak to peak)  tone at 25 MHz using the 5421. Finally, verify that the cables between the 5421 and the 5610 are in good shape.

If at all possible, attempt to swap out the 5421 or the 5610 with a different module of the same type.

Overall it would seem that either the 5421 or the 5610 are not applying the correct gain ot the signal. This is most likely a hard failure of one of the modules. With the above tests we can localize the issue to one board or the other and then take the appropriate steps to have it repaired.
