need to convert an I16device to supply a numeric digital control

Using labview 5.1, is it posible to convert an I16 device signal (16-bit integer word) to a numeric digital control (double 64-bitreal - 15digit precision)

It is possible to convert from integer to real by simply wiring from the I16 to the DBL (double precision real) terminal. A small grey dot will appear indicating the coercion. Alternatively, you can explicitly convert using the conversion functions Functions>>Numeric>>Conversion>>To Double Precision Float.
