Just downloaded it 2 days ago. Could Vista be causing the problem? Geee, what are the odds of that!
I'll try downloading it again and re-installing it, but I don't expect any different results.

Yep, it's Vista. Sad news for both of you Vista fans (you know who you are, Bill Gates and your clone from the Apple commercial!)
I installed Openoffice 2.4 and the TDMS add-in on my XP machine and everything works fine. I guess I'll have to wait for Vista SP2 or Openoffice 2.5 to use this add-in on my laptop.
My work-around is to save the data file as ASCII. When you save the file, go ahead and rename it with a .csv suffix. That way Openoffice Calc will recognize it as a delimited text file and takes you right to the "Text Import" window. If you leave your save file with the extension .txt, when you try to open/import the file into Openoffice Calc, the file will open in Openoffice Writer instead. Hey, it thinks it's a text file.

Pakman,
I took your suggestion and uninstalled Openoffice 2.4.0. I re-installed the newest version, 2.4.1. This time, before I installed the TDMS add-in, I disabled the Openoffice Quickstarter down in the Taskbar. The add-in installation instructions tell you to do this, but I ignorred it on all previous attempts. Bottom line, it works. TDMS Importer show up in the Toolbar of Calc.
So, was it the updated version or disabling the Quickstarter? I don't care as long as it works.
Thanks for the input.
