Capturing the signal from Ni SignalExpress(not screenshot) while continuous running

Hi all,

I am looking out to continously monitor the signal by NiSginal express. But want to trigger/ capture signal from instances I desire to capture(no screenshots but .txt data files).

Run it once mode does not allow me to continous monitor the signals. And for continously run mode, I dont want to record the data for the previous instances, I deem unwanted!

Could anyone offer assistance to my question or provide a link to assuage my pain in viewing bulky data file in contionous mode.

Have you tried adding a Save to ASCII step? That will save to txt file when you run continuously, but also you can right click on that step to "Disable". This allows you to monitor signals in realtime w/o logging data.
The downside is you'll have to STOP acquisition and re enable the step when it comes time to actually record the data to file.

Yes I have tried some the mentioned options I have understood. But the ones which favours my needs, requires an intermittent user response.

I wish to contionously monitor the signal. And grab only some desired instances at times when they appear on the signal. I wish to store them as txt files, but wish to limit the stored information for the instance I capture them for!

Could this be possible in NiSignal Express sorftware?
