How to split large log (tdms) files in hourly files without restarting acquisition

I am

Hi, acquiring on 8 channels data with the 24bit PXI-4472 card. I am using SignalExpress to log the data. As I am recording at 1kHz sampling for 8 hours I am producing a huge data file. In the step setup I am using continuous sampling and Samples to read = 120k. Hence every 2 minutes the data is written to the file. So far so good. If I am now running and recording this setup continuously I am creating these huge files. But I'd rather have an option that would allow me to specify the time after which a new tdms file (and log folder) is created while I am recording, so that data handling afterwards is easier. I hope there is a solution other than restarting data acquisition. I looked around in all options in SignalExpress and also tried search here in the forum and with google but I have not yet found a real solution.

I hope you can help me.

Thanks

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

I think the following KnowledgeBase article should get you going in the right direction:

Logging Continuous Data to Multiple Files in LabVIEW SignalExpress

Let is know if you run into any issues.
