Instek oscilloscope in SignalExpress?

Is it possible to use an Instek oscilloscope (GDS1102A-U) in SignalExpress 2011? (given that the drivers are correctly installed)

Thanks,

Bren

Hi Bren181,

There is no driver for this oscilloscope model; so in this case, you'll need to create your own driver in order to communicate it to Signal Express.

Here's a link:

Hi,

Thank you for the response.

GW Instek has provided a LabView driver as well as a Windows driver for this oscilloscope as can be seen here under the Downloads tab.

GDS1102A-U

Is this not the correct driver?

Brendan.

Bren181,

I checked the link that you sent to me; this driver is a custom driver not supported by NI. So, we are not able to assure you if this driver will work with Signal Express.

I recommend you to contact the designers of this driver for further information.

Have a nice day,

I do have a driver installed, which is a labled as a serial device, instead of a USB device.

I've checked the connection using the VISA test panel, there is no error and communication seems good.

However, when opening Singalexpress, the Channel View states that there is no device available.

Is there a way to create a NI-VISA driver that will allow me to use SignalExpress?

Hi,

Thank you very much for the assistance.

I have successfully created and installed the USB drivers for NI-VISA.

In MAX I'm seeing two RAW USB interfaces, 0 and 1. 0 seems to be for "Control Pipe" only, and 1 Seems to be for "Bulk In and Bulk Out" data pipes only.

Unfortunetly I am stuck at this point, as I had followed the steps in the interactive tutorial for SignalExpress, but I recieve an error (Error -1073807343) when I try to intitialize or Autosetup the IVI Scope Aquire.

Is there another tutorial for how to setup the installed drivers to work with SignalExpress?

Thank You!

Brendan

Bren181,

You can use this kit to develop IVI drivers:

And this link shows you how to import this driver to Signal Express
