Hello!

Hope you all are fine, have a nice day.

Yes, all the device drivers are properly intalled.

Even in MAX version 5 all the devices are shown but no device recognize in labview signal express.

We are using Labview version 2011 in windows xp (sp3) 32-bit platform.

For details please check attachements.

Thanks & Regards.

Zaidi

SignalExpress only detects and uses devices attached to the Windows target it is running in.  It cannot use devices on RT targets.  For PXI(e) use, we recommend using an MXI interface.  My apologies for not catching that in my first reply.

Thanks

Then please tell us how can we acquire data from NI-4472 in labview2011

Your 4472s need to be connected to the local computer, not an attached RT system.  Since it appears your cards are PXI, there are two ways to do this.

  1. Connect your PXI rack to your main computer using a MXI-4 interface
  2. Install Windows and SignalExpress on the controller of the PXI chassis (this will wipe out the RT installation)

Either of these methods will make the 4472s "local" to the Windows operating system instead of "remote" on the RT system.

We are currently using following system to acquire data from hydrophones:

• PXI-1042Q chassis
• NI-8176 controller
• NI-4472
Now we want to upgrade the existing DAQ system with USB based NI cards. Our preliminary selection is
1) NI-USB-6211 card OR
2) PCI Express Control of PXI Express (MXI-Express for PXI Express)

Please suggest / advice whether above mentioned are suitable for our application or not. Our preference is DAQ with USB interface but if PCI express is a better option then we will go with the former.

Also suggest whether the screw terminal be connected with the similar type connector found in 4472 through an adapter. Our sensors connect with 4472 through a BNC connector.

We need more information before we can adequately answer this question.  In general, USB has much less throughput and higher latency than PCI, so the PXI system will normally give you better performance than the USB card.  However, whether this matters to you depends upon channel count, data rate, data format, number of points collected, and acquisition mode (continuous vs. single waveform).  And probably a few other things.

So, short answer, it may work, it may not.  Please post more details.  You may also want to post in the DAQ forums, since this forum is primarily for issues with SignalExpress, not the acquisition cards used by SignalExpress.  You will get a better variety of responses there, since the DAQ forum is far more popular than this one.
