NI SignalExpress 2014 won't playback data

Hi all,

I try to playback data i have recorded with no success.

under Octave analysis, after choosing the logged data it would not show any graphs and when i try to play the recording by clicking on "Run" nothing would happen, further to this under step setup in "configuration" label it shows that Total Band Power is -Inf.

I'm able to play some of the recordings in the log but others are giving me troubles.

Any suggestions?

Hi Roi2016,

It's a bit difficult to understand the behavior you're seeing from your first post.  Can you confirm that you are using SignalExpress with the Sound and Vibrations Assistant?

Then, please talk us through what steps you have in your program so that we can get an idea of what Run buttons and configuration labels you are talking about. Also include relevant details about any hardware you are using.  It can be incredibly helpful if you can include the SE project or at least a screenshot so that we can see what is going on.

I will describe better.

first, i'm using SignalsExpress 2015 after updating my SignalsExpress 2014.

i'm recording with 4 pcb Piezotronics microphones connected directly to the NI module (which are recognized as Teds) and using sound and vibration assistant. the recordings i'm trying to play were taken with SignalsExpress 2014. I already recorded many times in the past using this hardware with no problem analyzing the results later.

I also talked over the phone to NI support but we did not find what causing this issue (not being able to play the recordings) so i hope someone here could help.

my steps towards playing the recordings:

1. Openning a new project by clicking on "Empty SignalsExpress Project"  in the "Getting started" window i get when starting SignalsExpress 2015.

2. click on "File" at the right upper side of the windows --> "Import" --> click on "Logged Signals from TDMS Files", then chossing the folder in which the recording are at and clicking "Current Folder".

after this all the recording appear on the left lower side of the window under "Logs" (as can be seen in pic 1a)

3. Then right click with the mouse and choosing "Analysis", then choosing "Frequency-Domain Measurements", then choosing "Octave Analysis" (as in pic 1a).
4. Then choosing "Sound pressure" as data (as in pic 2a).

5. now under "step setup" in "configuration" label it shows that Total Band Power is -Inf (as in pic 3a) - which should not be the case (with recordings i can play the Total Band Power value i get is not -Inf).

6. Further to this, under "Data View" when clicking on "Run" that appears on the upper left side of the screen nothing is playing.

Hi Roi2016,

It sounds like some sort of compatabiltiy issue in the upgrade from 2014 to 2015. If you try to play them in 2014 again, do they still work? Also, if you take a new recording in 2015 and then try to play it back, does it work? This may help figure out if it's a difference in the software versions.

I wasn't able to play my recording in SignalExpress 2014 so i upgraded to 2015 and still can't play my recordings properly.

I have recordings that i can't play which were taken with SignalExpress 2014 and 2015.

i'm wondering if anyone else had this king of issue?
