Did you mean:

X axis scaling will not allow selection of desired scale (20 seconds for window)

I'm trying to scale the data view x axis (time) to show up to 20 seconds of data. When I enter minimum and maximum numbers for the axis it reverts to default values that are not useful in my application, such as min -0.10, max 0.01, etc.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

Just a couple of questions for you:
1. Did you turn off autoscale? (right-click menu, X-Scale >> Autoscale)
2. Are you working with a log?
3. Do you have 20 seconds worth of data to see?

Thanks,
Phil

Auto-scale is off.

I am not using a logarithmic scale (is this what you mean?)

I am continuously receiving data, so yes, I do have more than 20 seconds worth of data.

Are you plotting your data onto a waveform chart or a waveform graph?  As long as you have the AutoScaleX unchecked, you should be able to edit the x-axis scale without any problems.  To edit the scale, simply double-click the numbers and type in your desired range.  For example, you would type in 0 at the left end of the axis, and 20 in the right end.  Please provide more details (maybe a screenshot) if you are still having issues.  Thanks!

So, no. I was not talking about your Viewer being in Logarithmic mode or not, I was wondering if you were logging/recording your data to a log file (a feature in SignalExpress 2.0+); I'm going to assume that you are not logging your data.

You mentioned continually receiving data, but eventhough you may have been running a project for at least 20 seconds, this does not mean that we have all that data history; this is what logging/recording is for. So if you are simply receiving data and viewing it in the data viewer, the viewer can only show you the last chunk of data that was received, but none of the history (again, unless you record the data).

I hope that makes sense. If that just sparked more questions, please feel free to ask.

Phil
