I am using a load cell and the NI USB 9237 DAQ. I have logged some data using signal express and am now wanting to filter the data using a butterworth 4th order filter. However, I am unsure of the best method of calculating the optimal cut-off frequency. I have spoken with several individuals and a power spectrum analysis was mentioned. I have created a step within signal express(analyze--->frequency domain--->power spectrum) to perform this task but am unsure how to actually determine the cut-off frequency. Is it just a visual inspection of the spectrum or is there more to it than that?
Or is there a better method within signal express that should be used?
