I have a project under C:\...\My Documents and captured data under C:\...\My Documents\Signal Express Data. To free up disk space on my PC I have moved a copy of the NIDAQ project to a network drive and directory as well as copy of the C:\...\My Documents\Signal Express Data directory. The project opens up but I think it is looking for the data in the original location. How do I move the project data to a network folder and configure a copy of the project on the network drive to look for the project data on the network drive?
Thanks

Hi John,
For your existing projects I recommend removing the log files from the project so that the reference to the old location is removed. You can then import the same log files at their new location into the project. To import the TDMS files go to File>>Import>>Logged Signals from Signal Express TDMS Files…
For new projects take a look at the logging options. These can be found under Tools>>Options…>>Logging. From here you can changed the default directory Signal Express saves log files to. You can also make it save the log files in the same directory as the project file.
Let me know if you have any questions and have a great week.
Thanks,

Thanks for the description with respect to moving a project and captured data from one PC to a network location. I am not sure if I explained that the data were captured to my laptop during a field trip to a remote location, near the Canadian arctic. In this case the original project profile has to capture data to the laptop, and take up valuable disk space. Back in the lab, I was able to set up another project that captured data to a location on our LAN. But this is not available when conducting using the NI DAQ in the field.
Having to create a project that "lives" on our LAN, move the captured data log files to the LAN and then import the captured log files into the new project seems unnecessarily clumsy.
May I suggest that NI look at the use of NI DAQ tools in the field and back in one's office as described above?
Thanks

Hey John,
If you turn on the option to save the log files to the same directory as your project file then you should be able to copy your project and logs over to a new computer and open up the project without problems. This option will need to be enabled on both computers for this to work. The option can be found in Signal Express under Tools>>Options…>>Logging>>Store log files next to project file. Let me know if this does not work for you and take care.
Thanks,
