title: optimize and monitor both over balanced and under balanced oil drilling techniques for safe operations using LabView as a human machine interface integrated with the oracle 10g and visual basic

Description: this project aims to optimize and manage the risks that are included in both over and under balanced drilling techniques. first the data are gathered using RFID sensors from the well while drilling then the computer will read the data and the visual basic will send the data to the oracle 10g database and also make the connection to the Labview. the Labview is of a great benefit for our project because it allowes to calculate any parameter that we need and it gives at the end a clear interface for the operator in the well about the conditions and gives the recomendations in any case.

products: Labview program, visual basic 6, oracle 10g.

the challenge and the solution: during the project we found a difficulties in getting the data from the well so we have solved this by making visual basic programes runs with the labview to give the data as they had been gotten form the well and the labview do the rest process as explained before.

Benefits gained using LabVIEW and NI tools: it gives a clear panel to the operator about the condition of the drilling and it will help to eleminate the human error that may some times lead to major problems as happened in gulf of mexico.
