PROJECT VISION:

Technology can bring back anything but not life. Life is valuable. Everyday, hundreds of people lose their lives due to delay in the reach of emergency services. The major contributor for this is traffic. In today’s busy schedule traffic is unavoidable. Unfortunately, even the emergency vehicles like ambulance, fire engines etc fall prey to this. Death of the innocent people made us deliberately think of a solution. This project is to solve the problem of traffic for the emergency services to some extent.

IMPLEMENTATION:

  • Emergency vehicles are provided with RF transmitters.
  • Arriving at the signal, if there is no way to move further, the driver of the emergency vehicle issues the RF signal by specifying the direction of his lane.
  • The central trafic system(labVIEW) recieves this signal and response is given by making the traffic signal green for his lane.
  • Simultaneously, other traffic signals are made red- indicating to stop.
  • Once the emergency vehicle passes the traffic signal, the previous state is resumed and continues.

LIMITATIONS:

  • The driver should be aware of transmitting RF signal by specifying direction.
  • The application is restricted to clear the traffic only at signals not elsewhere.
  • The system may cause an increased vehicle density on other directions.
  • If emergency vehicles arrive simultaneously from different directions, providing the justice to all of them is a challenge.

BENEFITS:

  • Simple and economical.
  • Can be easily implemented to the existing system.
  • No technical skills are required to handle this.

SOFTWARE :

      labVIEW  2012

.

HARDWARE:

      RF module (Transmittor & Reciever)

CONCLUSION:

Every second is important during emergencies. A small delay in providing emergency services may take away number of lives. Hopefully, implementation of this

system can save precious lives to  some extent.
