Introduction

Overview:  To prototype and build an optical encoder. NIMyDAQ hardware will be used with LabVIEW to acquire, analyse and present thedata. This Lab will give you step by step instructions so whatever your LabVIEWexperience you will be able to complete this lab.

Materials and parts neededfor this Lab

  • National Instruments myDAQ.
  • Proto board
  • Infrared Emitter LED
  • Unfiltered Photodiode
  • POT,ROTARY, 20KOHM, 20%, 250mW
  • Resistor s assorted
  • Jumper wire kit
  • 9V pp3 battery.
  • Sheet of dark card
  • Blue tack
  • LED
  • LabVIEW 2010 or higher installed on a PC with theappropriate driver software.

Software

Using NI LabVIEW to buildtwo Virtual Instruments the first being a tool for the development of thecircuit and the second being a program that will be able of calculating RPMfrom inputs. Both of these programs acquire analyse and present data. See the attachedfiles for full instructions on how to build this Lab.

Please can  you  include a  circuit  diagram  with  resitor  values  and  especially the

  • Infrared Emitter LED
