Minimum Switching Load for PXI-2536

Hello! I need to measure low-voltage (μV to mV) on hundreds of test points and I am looking into the PXI-2536 as a multixplexer. I have looked through the datasheet and the specification but I cannot find the minimum switching load/wetting current. I cannot find the specification/part number for the relay either. Does PXI-2536 have a minimum switching load voltage?

Many thanks,

Chuck

Hi Chuck-U,

Minimum switching load specs are generally found only on switch systems that use electromechanical relays. Electromechanical relays have at tendency to build up pollutants and oxidation on the relay contacts, and they rely on a periodic spark to clean off the relay contacts, which is why we spec a minimum switching load.

Conversely, the 2536 uses unisolated Field Effect Transistors (FETs), which make them ideal for switching speed and density, and provide an unlimited mechanical lifetime. The good news with FET relays, is that they do not require a minimum load. The "bad" news is that they are easily damaged if you exceed the voltage or current specification.
