I'm planning to build a matrix based on NI 2833 modules.
The matrix will connect test points with an external source meter.
The system will do the following (nothing new, I suspect 🙂 😞
1) Configure matrix to connect next channel
2) Perform test
3) Go to 1 until all channels are tested.
To improve performance, can the source meter and the matrix exchange handshaking signals?
Something like this: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/375472A-01/switch/handshakingg/
So basically I would like to "instruct" the matrix about the connections I need and then let run the test.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Marco
p.s. The source meter has digital I/Os able to perform this task.

Hey Marco,
The SwitchBlock modules (including 2833) do not support scanning as of NI-Switch 4.6.1. However, our PXI and PXIe modules do, so I would recommend looking there if you'd like to use this feature. Tell us more about your application (matrix size, current/voltage requirements, etc) and we can provide a PXI/PXIe solution. For starters, I'd look at the PXI-2529, but if that won't work just post up. Happy clicking!
