SCXI Simulated Chasis created when importing NISE Virtual Devices

Hi.  When I transported my virtual devices from NISE to a new computer, the devices were created successfully but for some reason it also creates chasis with a red 'x' under the Devices and Interfaces menu.  The computer I'm using is a development computer and not the target computer, therefore there are no hardware connected to the two computers between which the virtual devices are being exported and imported.  The IVIConfigurationStore.xml file was transfered as well from the following location: C:\Program Files\IVI\Data.  What could the problem be or why is it doing this?

I'm running on Windows XP with Switch Executive v.2.0.1 and Labview 7.1

Here is a screen shot of what it looks like in NISE.

Guy04,

What version of NI-SWITCH driver do you have? Also on the original NISE device, how were the SCXI modules or chassis created?
On the machine that you see the phantom simulated chassis, did NISE ever crash?
Do both computers have the same NI-SWITCH driver version?

Thanks for such a prompt response.

The NI Switch version is 2.31 and both computers did have the same version of the NI-SWITCH driver.  On the new machine the NISE has not crashed.  When the original NISE devices were created there was no hardware connected to the computer and therefore there was no SCXI chasis present.  I had first created IVI driver sessions and logical names and then added the IVI Switches to the virtual device.

I tried to see if the problem still happens in NI-SWITCH 3.0 but the phantom chassis did not show up. I created a driver session with simulated devices (with specific driver) and a logical names just like you apparently did. It seems as we do not have the same behavior in 3.0 then. We do want to make sure we can verify the behavior and that it is fixed in  3.0.
We are looking into it and I will update you as soon as I know more.

Are these chassis still show up after a reboot? Can you delete these chassis and still use the NISE device? if you do are these chassis coming back every time you use the NISE devise?

The simulated chassis are still present after reboot.  After I delete them, they do not come back on its own.  They get recreated when I import another viritual device.  Also,  they don't seem to be affecting any of the routes or devices.  Do you think it has anything to do with the IVIConfigurationStore.xml found in the IVI/Data file?
