keithley 7002 with switch executive

Has anyone tried using either the Keithley 7001 or 7002 with the switch executive? It looks like an IVI class type driver is needed but I can't find one. I found an IVI driver for the Keithley 2750 but before I buy one of these (either the 7002 or the 2750) I wan't to make sure they will work with the switch executive.

I do not know of anyone in our department that has used a Keithley switch with Switch Executive. The Keithley 2750 switch has an IVI compliant instrument driver therefore it should work fine with Switch Executive. We have a 6.5 Digit DMM (PXI-4070) and a large collection of switches that you may also want to consider as a solution for your application. My previous posting is incorrect. The release notes for the Keithley 2750 instrument driver state that the DMM portion of this instrument complies with the DMM IVI specification. The switch portion however does not comply with the Switch IVI specification. This IVI driver will not work in switch executive. To use this switch, you could develop an IVI switch instrument driver for this instrument. Otherwise, we have IVI compliant switches for this type of application. Please let me know if you need additional clarification.

Hi,

Any IVI compliant switch device can be used with NI Switch Executive. There are more than 300 switch devices with IVI driver support from many vendors. However, I am not aware of an IVI driver readily available for the Keithley 700x switches you mention. There is still hope however for being able to use NI Switch Executive in your application.

1. Many users have developed their own IVI switch driver for their switch hardware to use with NI Switch Executive. LabWindows/CVI offers an IVI Driver Assistant for creating IVI drivers. We can offer guidance and examples in this area if you are interested.

2. All NI switches (PXI and SCXI) come with the NI-SWITCH IVI-compliant driver. You can also use the PXI switches as a standalone switch box with
your GPIB based system through a MXI-3 interface to a desktop PC. This is becoming a popular option for users with prior investments in standalone equipment looking to take advantage of the open PXI platform for switching and the software benefits such as NI Switch Executive that go with it.
