NI package manager shows I have SystemLink 17.5 installed but I do not see the "Dashboard Builder" option...
Is there something else I need to install before having the dashboard builder?

There are packages that should be installed if you have the Dashboard builder installed. One example is NI Skyline Dashboard Builder Service. You can check to see if that package is installed by searching for it in the Installed tab. Make sure that the 'Products Only' checkbox is deselected.
If that package is installed, I'd start with checking your services to make sure everything has been started properly and is running as expected.

Thank you, I went into the NI package manager and it showed me I was missing exactly the Dashboard builder.
It was enough to just install those parts and it is working now!
Is there a place I can learn how to use the dashboard though?
I have managed to show the tags, but it is not obvious to me how to show the tags in graphs and other objects.
There are also ways to import some dashboards, are there any templates I could look at?

After upgrading my cRIO's to 17.5 (2 so far), I've lost the connection to SystemLink. The only solution has been to remove the target from SystemLink and re-add it. It picks it up just fine in this manner, but I wouldn't expect to have to do this every time I upgrade to 17.5 from 17.0. Is this expected behavior? Note that I did install updated RIO drivers and a few other SW packages on the RIO at the same time. However it was the SystemLink server side that I had to drop and re-add the system to get it to connect again.

Here is an export of one of my simple dashboards that combines a couple concepts that you should be able to unzip and then import. It has a drop down containing a couple systems and then based on the system the user selects it sets a param that changes the bindings for the rest of the controls and plots on the chart.
