Test Monitor Test Result - comment field

Hi all,

Is there a 'Test Result' data field for just simple test 'comment'. Show it will be visible in the 'test monitor' test result overview. It should also be very help full to have a 'comment' field for a test step.

What is the use case of this comment field that you're looking for? For Test Results, would the "keyword" or "property" fields work?

For Test Steps, in the Data field, there is a "Text" field which can be used for a comment. When a string is supplied there, it will be added to the "Details" section of a test step. I've included a screenshot below showing that field.

Thank you for your reply. I know there are ways to store a comment like you explained, but you first have to open the Test Result / step to see this details. I would like to see the comment in the test results overview table just like 'System', 'Test program' ,'Operator', and in the test steps overview similar like 'Step Name', Elapsed Time', 'Step Type'.

Having a comment field in the overview tables can help to quickly see for what reason the test was done without having to open all the tests.

That sounds like the use case of a property (or possibly keyword). You could create a property with the name "comment' and then you would add the comment to the property value. It will show up in the Test Results details overview at the top. We're also experimenting with other ways to better display property and keyword information from test results in that view.
