Setting Up SystemLink Client Systems (Imaging Method)
Use the following instructions if you plan to create an image containing the SystemLink Client as part of your initial client setup.
Instructions
- Setup an initial system that you plan to capture the image from.
- Install LabVIEW and any other applications like TestStand that you want included on your image.
- Install the SystemLink Client - https://www.ni.com/en-ph/support/downloads/software-products/download.systemlink-client.html
- Optional: If you plan to use TestStand configure the SystemLink reporting plugin - https://ni.com/documentation/en/systemlink/latest/tests/integrating-with-teststand/
- Optional: Right-click on the SystemLink tray icon and selecting Settings to open the SystemLink Client utility, select Connect to a SystemLink server, and specifying the Server DNS alias or hostname.
- Optional: If you want to test that the system can connect and publish the data to the server perform the following additional steps.
- Launch the SystemLink web interface, open Systems Manager and click the Pending systems time to appr...
- The system should show up in Systems Manager under managed systems and use the other applications Tag Viewer, File Viewer, and Test Monitor to verify the data is showing up.
- Take an image of the system using whatever tools are provided by your IT department.
- Deploy the image to your test stations
- As part of the imaging process run C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\salt-minion\salt-minion-cleanup.bat. This will remove the unique identifier and private keys, so that SystemLink can uniquely identify the new systems when they try to connect to the server.
- If the script cannot be run as part of the image deployment process then you can manually run it as an administrator on the client immediately before the initial image is taken. Ensure you do not reboot the system after running the script before the image is taken.
