Hello. We are a brand new team that began this past January 2023. We had many challenges with our robot operating from the very beginning that seasoned veterans on FIRST robotics teams could not understand. At both of our qualifying events, we lost connection to the roboRio 2 before and during several matches. In addition to losing connection, sometimes the roboRIO 2 wouldn't connect to begin with, the RSL wouldn't work, and the status light on the roboRIO2 would stay orange. It also wouldn't connect directly to the roboRio 2 even thought we connected via ethernet. At each event, the Field Tech Leaders were puzzled to try and solve the problem with us. At our first event, they told us to get a new radio and we did, but still had problems. Then at the second event, they told us the SD card must be corrupt, so we got a new one and still had troubles. Finally, at the State Championship, the Tech Leaders trouble shooted and determined that it was the roboRio 2 that was giving us problems. Thankfully, another team had a spare roboRIO 2 and loaned us their spare. We changed out the parts and barely made it onto the field in time. We lost several matches because of these challenges at each event. I would like to request a replacement roboRIO 2 and am hoping that your company will agree to this request. To confirm, there were no more errors after swapping units?
Did you use the original SD card, or the card from the team? (or freshly image?)

There were no more issues with the new unit and we used a brand new ,freshly imaged sd card.

Are you able to get the device to replicate the issue still?
Trying to rule out any software / SD card issues since the units do go through burn-in testing before they leave the factory.

The issues we experienced with our robot happened at each of the 3 events we competed in this year. So replication has been established. After states, our season was over and we have not operated the robot since. I can't imagine the challenges were caused by the SD cards since we used different SD card vendors each time. We have an event coming up in a few weeks and do not want to experience these challenges again.
