RoboRio 2.0 USB-A Port repair

I am reaching out on behalf of FRC team 5968. All communication from our Rio stopped and LED lights remain in an off state. This started after connecting a USB camera, a popping sound with a burning smell and smoke came from our RoboRio.

Do you have the path for submitting that support request? General NI support does not seem to support the RoboRios and resources I've looked at recommend reaching out in this forum.

Hello  bmhille,

Thanks for posting on the forums. I'm Matthew with NI. This forum is how we're handling FIRST Robotics support.

Can you tell me what camera model was used?
Also, just to be clear, with everything disconnected from the roboRIO and a known working supply voltage given to it, there are no lights?

The model camera was a Microsoft HD-3000 LifeCam. It is does not come up when connected to a computer and appears to have been a faulty camera.

Yes, with everything disconnected and known working supply, no lights come on.
