USRP can't connect to pc(win7)

When I use the wire to connect pc with ni-usrp 2920,the computer displayed "the cable has disabled" like I didn't put the wire into the computer. When I use the NI-USRP Configuration Utility ,it couldn't find the device.

I followed the proceduce and changed the ip address, but it just doesn't work. Can someone help me solve the problem?

My computer is    Compaq Presario CQ40-509AU,it has a gigabit ethernet ,

Hello llg9012,

Could you please answer a few questions:

  1. Is the USRP connected directly to your computer or through a network hub/switch?
  2. On the USRP, is the Green LED on continuously? Does the Orange LED blink?
  3. What status lights are turned on? (Lights D & F?) What status lights are blinking? (Light E)
  4. Does the network card work when connected to regular network, will it access internet/network resources, etc?

Hi,Anthony F

1.The USRP is connected directly to my computer.

2.Only D&F are  turned on,the left are all off. When the USRP is turned on,A C E only blinked a little while, then it turned off.

3 the network card work when connected to regular network, can access internet/network resources.

I just use the computer to reply to you,it obviously  says the network card work  is OK.

When I choose to connect the computer with the USRP,the computer just shows the network cable has been extracted. and only D&F lights on USRP are on.It seems they just don't know each other.

I've seen this behavior only with computers with a 10/100 Ethernet port. I'd there a way to verify it is 1 Gb?

Perhaps trying on another pc would be possible?

can you describe the light sequence on the ABCDEF lights?  when booted there should be some flashing and the bottom two lights on the right hand side should be illuminated.  Is this the case?

Does the light come on on the ethernet plug on the USRP?  Does the computer say "etherent cable disconnected" or some other message?

Thank you,

Erik

ErikL,

D and F are green ,in bothom right corner of ABCDEF lights. LED at gb ethernet port  is green non-stop, and somethimes

orange light apeers at the other side of the GB ethernet port. PC doesen't say anything like cable disconected, just connect at start

and nothing more...

thank ypu,
