Hello,
I have an existing VME Frame that is in use via a PCI-MXI-2 interface.
Using Max Explorer(v.5.0.1), how do I add another VME frame, with other devives, to the existing PCI-MXI-2 configuration?
I did this 10+ years ago, and don't remember the steps.
Thanks,
Dave Bolles

Hi Dave,
Given the age of VME hardware, support resources are a bit sparse. I was able to track down a PDF (linked below) that walks through the process of configuring a VXI system in MAX -- the steps might not align exactly with your particular version of NI MAX, but they should provide some guidance nonetheless.
Let me know if this is enough to get you going. I'll spend a bit more time today searching for additional documentation and will post back if I track some down.
Best,
Nik H.

Nik,
I was able to get another Frame recognized, but it was very intermittent.
Swapping cables and MXI-2 cards made no difference.
Note: On the machine that I am having issues with, I was running NI-VXI with the following:
NI VXI 2.11
Visa Run time 5.3
Visa 5.3
NI DAQ Max Configuration manager 9.5
System Configuration 5.1
I was unable to Import/Export VME devices so I decided to upgrade NI-VXI to 3.5.
Note: I am running NX-VXI 3.5 on XP on another PC and have had no issues.
Now I am running into compatibility issues with NI-VXI 3.5, when running Resource Manager, see attached.
How do I fix this?
Thanks,
Dave

Nik,
This article did not help me.
NI has to do a better job of identifying the appropriate links for a particular task.
A better article is:
https://www.ni.com/pdf/support/us/multfrm2.pdf
It took me 3 days to find this.
I been talking with tech support for 4 days now, still no solution.
