I am looking for a company that will repair Agilent E6401A down converter. I have 5 with various issues

Here are the failures for these components.
    2ea.- w/ incorrect address
1 ea.- w/ noise spikes through the RF spectrum.
1 ea. w/ low signal level from 20-1000mhz
    1 ea. no signal output.
I would appreciate anybody who could point me  toward someone with the capability to fix  these. Agilent is no longer repairing these.
Thanks

Sorry, I don't know any places you can get that hardware repaired. Agilent has not made this board since 2001 and quit suporting it in 2006, so you may be hard pressed to find replacement components. NI does offer a down converter that would more than meet your needs(2.7GHz), the PXI-5600 and you can interface it with any existing VXI hardware using MXI-2.

Good luck with getting your current hardware fixed, but when you are ready to upgrade, NI is ready for you!

Have you tried Google? There are an awful lot of companies that provide repair services. I've had very old Agilent instruments repaired (not VXI though) by a couple of companies. VXI makes repairing it a bit harder since it never sold in much volume. As Marshall mentioned, components might be hard to find. In the case of some of my old equipment, parts had to be removed for one unit in order to repair a couple of others.

Actually, before using Google, check your local phone directory. If you are in an urban location with a significant hi-tech presence, you probably have a local company providing calibration services. Some of these also do repair and if they don't, know where a repair can be made.

Send me an email at kcoggins@gmail.com - I know a company that might be willing to do an evaluation for you.  This would involve the company taking the units, evaluating what is physically wrong, and then providing you with a quotation to repair the item.  This company is in the contract depot repair business.
