Timing with KineticSystems V200

I am currently using a hybrid PXI/VXI system and controlling with a PC
over a MXI-4 connection. I connect the VXI system to PXI via a MXI-2
connection.

I am having some issues using my 10MHz external clock being outputted
by my PXI-6653. I would, ideally, like to use my VXI-MXI-2 controller
in slot 0 of my VXI crate to broadcast the 10 MHz signal to the CLK10
on the VXI backplane, but I cannot find a way for my V200s to use that
signal. I have attempted to bypass my controller with the timing and
connect my external clock to the SMB on group A of my V200 board.
However, if I connect a scope to the ClkOut, I'm not getting a 10 MHz
signal at all. Does anyone else here have experience with timing and
PXI/VXI hybrid systems?

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,

Thank you for your post.  I do not believe that there is a way to output the 10MHz clock to you VXI system using the hardware that you have.  However, the VXI-PCIe-8360t has front panel connectors that allow you to sync with the CLK10.  If you used this setup, you would be using a star configuration instead of the daisy-chain configuration you are currently using.  Unfortunately, the VXI-MXI-2 hardware is not designed to synchronize with the PXI 10MHz clock.

Thanks again for your post!
