Any working custom deivce example for me to startup with VS2011 SP1?

Hi guys,

Is there any example for custom device? I could only find examples of VS 2010 and 2009.

But these do not work on VS 2011 because of VI version problems.

I had the same problem when I was trying to learn about custom devices.  I did three things before finally creating a custom device that did what I wanted it to do.

1) I read Custom Device Developer's Guide and even though it says 2010 it's still very useful/applicable to 2011.

2) I downloaded and used the Easy Custom Device Tool to create a basic asynchronous custom device.  By doing this and looking at the different default VIs of a custom device (especially the RT Driver VI) you get a good idea how the basics work - just follow the instructions with it and spend time opening each VI and it should start to come together.

3) Made a lot of mistakes and asked a lot of questions on here.

Hopefully this will help get you started.
