Ethernet communcation in VeriStand project : required hardware and implementation.

Hi National Instruments,

I would like to use Ethernet communication in a VeriStand project and I would like to know if I can use the Ethernet ports of my controller (PXI8840) or if I need to use a separate PXI Ethernet interface module.

Also is it required that I use a custom device to perform Ethernet communication or can I do it directly in VeriStand, in a simillar way to CAN communication for instance ?

My current answer :

1. I don't need to use a separate PXI Ethernet Interface module because my controller has two Ethernet ports. Such a device is useful only for Ethernet projects that require more flexibility, in terms of subnets.

2. It is impossible to do Ethernet in VeriStand without using a LabView custom device.
