Moving data from a target to the host PC

I'm trying to automate logging on my veristand 2021 project (I'm running the veristand real-time OS on a pxi).  I am having a bit of a frustrating time doing this. I can use the standard logging, but it requires my operator to actively click the "log start" button before my trigger kicks in, which they sometimes forget.

Alternatively, the embedded data logger seems like a good alternative, but I haven't been able to get my files off of the target. I've attempted to use the systemlink custom device and the data mover custom device but systemlink only appears to be able to upload to a remote server via http (NOT the local machine). File mover doesn't appear to be able to access the files on the target. Some error codes appear for both custom devices, but I can't find any documentation for those to save my life.

Any of these solutions would help me:

1. starting the log upon deployment

2. starting the log via a veristand step (or XIL step?)

3. some automated method of moving the data over from the target to a specific path once it is logged via embedded data logger

is someone able to help with with one or all of those items?

1. starting the log upon deployment

To my knowledge, there is no way to auto start the logging specification on deployment.

2. starting the log via a veristand step (or XIL step?)

See Data Logging Options When Using ASAM XIL Steps for NI TestStand

3. some automated method of moving the data over from the target to a specific path once it is logged via embedded data logger

One recommendation is to use Directory Synchronization with SFTP Client. See Directory Synchronization :: WinSCP or File Synchronization - FileZilla Pro
