Position: Software Engineer

Position Description: Neuro Kinetics, Inc. (NKI) provides leading-edge diagnostic solutions to neurologic, neuro-otologic and ophthalmic clinicians and researchers.  As part of its on-going efforts to provide state-of-the-art software and technology to said users, NKI is currently committed to expanding its software development resources.  Specifically, we are seeking to employ an individual with proven software development skills in user interface, data manipulation, and video processing.

The successful Software Engineer candidate must be able draw upon his or her software programming skills to develop advanced medical device software for deployment in clinics.  Because this individual will be working on developing products that will ultimately be geared to end users, he or she will be expected to help define and work within the bounds of user requirements and subsequent software specifications.

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or equivalent

Responsibilities:

  • Designing, coding and deploying applications in National Instrument LabVIEW
  • Front end graphical user interface design
  • Database management and programming
  • Analyzing user requirements and subsequently developing specification
  • Creating software validation and verification plans
  • Conducting validation and verification testing
  • Contribute to code reviews
  • Document software functionality
  • Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation
  • Maintain software standards compliance
  • Writing operational documentation with technical authors
  • Maintaining systems by monitoring and correcting software defects

Experience:

  • Three years of programming experience or equivalent
  • Experience with National Instruments LabVIEW Development Environment or equivalent
  • Experience with database structure and programming or equivalent
  • Experience with traditional compiled programming languages such as C++ or equivalent
  • Experience in writing technical documents
  • Medical Device or other FDA regulated design experience is a plus, but no required

  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Must be able to communicate with scientists, engineers and software developers
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, demonstrated ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to produce documentation
  • Must be detail oriented and self driven
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States of America without sponsorship.
