List of LV Reference Books from Developer Day

Does anyone remember the LV reference book list that Steve Schiffhauer posted during his keynote address at the Developer Education Day presentation in Pittsburgh on May 14th?

My boss and I attended, but neither of us brought our notebooks to lunch.  Now he'd like to know what books were on that list.  I looked at the list of NI publications on their site but I think these were third party.

Any help would be appreciated,

- John

Hi John.  Sorry for the delayed response.  We were holding the same evevnt here in Rochester yesterday.

The two books that I referenced were:

A Software Engineering Approach to LabVIEW

by Jon Conway (Author), Steve Watts (Author)

This one is selling on Amazon for $63.99

The LabVIEW Style Book (Hardcover)

by Peter A. Blume (Author)

This one is selling on Amazon for $73

You can "Look Inside" both of these books on Amazon and see the Table of Contents for each.  Either would be a great resource to help you be a better LabVIEW programmer.

Good Luck!

I would also recomend;

"LabVIEW For Everyone, Graphical Programming Made Easy and Fun" Third edition by Jeffrey Travis and Jim Kring.

ISBN 0-13-185672-3

Jeffrey was the author of the diffinative book on network based LV apps and much of his book was integrated into the LV Advanced course of about 8 years ago (since moved to intermediate). Jim Kring completely updated the book for the third edition and this book is current for all of the functions in LV 8. If you don't know Jim Kring he is one of the NI LabVIEW Champions and ws one of the co-founders of OpenG.

No I don't get any kick-backs for plugging his book.

The links my boss (Dr Greg Cala, the fifth person in the world to achieve certification as a LabVIEW Architect and LabVIEW Adnvanced Iinstructor) shares with his classes is here for a list of LV books and if you need to address a noise in your messurements I strongly suggest reading "Noise Reduction Techniques in Electronic Systems" by Henry Ott that can be found in this list.

Have fun!
