search for WSN nodes powered on in range

Is there any way to find out the WSN nodes powered on in the range which have not been added to gateway? I can either do it in MAX or use http client toolkit , but even that needs the serial number of the node to be known.

My application needs a dynamic addition of nodes which enter the range of the gateway. The acknowledgement for the same will be taken care in the application. but at the first go discovery of such nodes is important.

Hello, couldn't you simply add every node that you own to every gateway that you own?  That way, if any node is ever in range of any gateway, it will be able to join.  The only downside to this solution that I can see is if you plan on adding new nodes to the network in the future, but will be unable to access the gateway over the network.  However, even in that case there may be some things that could be done to work around the issue.  If this is not a good solution for you, a little more background on the application might help.
