ELVIS + DSUB

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I have a simple question, are the DSUB pins connected to any I/O lines or not?

Basically I need to implement a RS-232 communication, so, can I use the DSUB directly or do I need to use de D0<0...7> and connect it to the DSUB?

Thanks.

Hi,

If you are using the protoyping board with ELVIS, you need to connect the DSUB Pins (1 to 9) to the digital input /output with prototyping wires.
There is no internatl connection.
Then, you will be able to communicate with the DSUB by reading/writing the digital input/output lines.

Hi,

we just got new Elvis 2 + in our university. I tried to connect the func gen and oscilloscope together such that my labview will generate signal and will read through oscilloscope and will display it in graph or chart. But when I give a square signal, the oscilloscope reads the signal but doesn't show the signal properly in graph. Rather the signal can be displayed in chart but it looks like somebody has multiplied impulse function to my square. The image of the chart is uploaded and also the image of the program. Please help.

How can anyone possibly know what you have done just by those images? All of the coniguration is hidden in two expess VIs, Even the settings you pass in are hidden.
