NI FPGA - GPIO UCF constraints

Hello all,

I'm a student of AGH University of Science and Technology in Poland. Our university recently bought a bunch of NI ELVIS II devices, together with NI DI FPGA boards. So I'm currently playing with it a little, trying to set up some simple circuit on the breadboard and drive its output via GPIO lines to the FPGA for further processing.

Now, my problem is that I'm using Xilinx to program the FPGA. I've found a decent NI manual which describes UCF file constraints for most of FPGA equipment (LEDs, switches etc.). Unfortunately, it lacks any information about GPIO lines. I have no access to LabVIEW, so if anyone could help me and provide FPGA line locations for GPIO lines, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks!

PeterAGH,

Hello! I wanted to let you know that I'm looking into your question about the UCF files for the GPIO lines on the ELVIS FPGA Board. I don't have any information for you right now but I wanted to make sure you knew your question wasn't being neglected! I'll post back when I get some more information for you.

PeterAGH,

If you have LabVIEW installed, the UCF file will be located at <labview>\Targets\NI\FPGA\DEFB\FPGAFiles\DEFB.ucf.  It contains the locations of the GPIO lines on the device. However, if you don't have LabVIEW installed I'm not sure where the .ucf file will be. Do you have LabVIEW Installed on your computer, or another computer nearby?
