CAN Card

Hi All ,

I have NI PCI-CAN/2 Series 2 Card for validation purpose . The part number for the same is 777357-02. Other hardware & software detail is given below:- 

Software Details:  LabVIEW  version 8.0
NI Hardware :  CAN device PCI-CAN Series 2
Driver Version : NI CAN 2.4
Operating System:  Windows XP

I have few questions regarding CAN card:-

1.       How can I use NI PCI-CAN series 2 card as single wire CAN card?

2.       What are the hardware & software changes required for making NI PCI-CAN card single wire?

3.       Can i reconfigure the NI PCI CAN Card to dual wire after configuring it to single wire?

Hello Lab V or HKT,

The only NI-CAN card that is currently available that you can use as Single Wire is the Software Selectable PCI/PXI CAN interface or XS.  This enables you to select which type of transceiver you want to use in software using Measurement and Automation Explorer.

 

Your device only has the High Speed Transceiver, so it would not support single wire CAN.

So no other NI PCI CAN device supports single wire CAN configuration except NI PCI-CAN/XS2. 

I have NI PCI CAN series 2 Card. Is there any way to convert(by changing the jumper setting on PCB) to single wire CAN port?
