CAN transmit example given with Labview not working

Hi,

I am facing one problem. the CAN transmit examples given with labview are not working. When i tried to write some value & monitor the CAN bus with Oscilliscope nothing is happening.

Sometime i am getting train of pulse even when i have pressed the write button once or sometimes nothing.

Kindly help me out or send some example for transmitting over CAN in Labview 7.1. it is urgent.

I am using high speed CAN, one port

Thanks & Regards,

J

Hi,

If I'm not mistaken, then you also posted a CAN query here: https://forums.ni.com/t5/Automotive-and-Embedded-Networks/CAN-Transmit-with-connecting-Node/m-p/9784...

I'll try to address both the issues here. To begin with, please check if your MAX configuration has been done properly.

If your device passes the self test, then try using the Test Panel and check if you can detect a meaningful result on your hardware line. Also, the mechanical action of your WRITE boolean will determine if the pulse train is generated once or many times.

I'm also not sure what you mean by "monitoring without connecting the Node". However, you'll find CAN program written in 7.1 here: https://forums.ni.com/t5/Example-Code/Write-Multiple-Messages-to-a-CAN-Bus-at-Different-Sample-Rates...

Regards,

Vaibhav.

Hi,

I have to perform functional testing of a device by using RS232 communication. There is a CAN port also on the device under testing.

Please let me know how can i test that CAN port. I do not want to buy NI CAN card for one testcase.

My question is can i test the CAN port using any DAQ card ??

or is there any other method to test that CAN port ?

or i can buy any RS232 to CAN converter and then loop back the Rx & Tx lines of RS232 terminal.

Kindly suggest

/R
