CANopen protocol

I am new to the CAN.For one of our application we have to use CAN communication,

we are using CAN communication between two drives (drive1 & drive 2 are from different manufacturer) and PC.

For developing this communication , CAN we used CANopen protocols or the VIs given in LAbview 8. I had installed NI CAN 2.3.2 in my PC. i am using PCI -CAN/2 , series-2 , high speed card.

My main question is how we decide whether to use CANopen protocol or VIs given in LAbview 8.

And when we use CANopen protocols i.e conditions for using CAnopen protocols.

Hi RJ,

The NI CAN 2.3.2 driver has no built in CANopen Layer. Therefore you need to create it by your own, or buy our CANopen Library for LabVIEW.
