CanWarnCommFormat Explanation

When using the BUS monitor i get a CanWarnCommFormat error message every time i try to send something. Could somebody please give me a pointer on what might be wrong (baudrate etc..). Im using a NICan card to communicate to a philips SJA1000 CAN controller and i think the problem is on the SJA1000 side.
Thanks in advance...

Hello,

You can determine if your Bus Monitor and CAN card are working properly by using Interact.vi in LabVIEW to transmit frames, while running the Bus Monitor. Configure the Bus Monitor to use CAN0 and Interact.vi to use CAN1. Connect the two ports together with a straight through cable. When you run Interact.vi, you will need to click on the "write" button to transmit. If the transmitted frames show up on the Bus Monitor then the card and Bus Monitor are working properly.

You may get a warning if you are using only a CAN Network Interface in your program (no objects) and the board does not detect a device. Make sure the cables to the device are connected and terminated properly.

Good luck.
