Does LabWindows have user access to the parallel port on the rear of my pc

If LabWindows/CVI does not have direct access to this port, then would it have access to the Parallel Port Communications Driver: NTPORT.OCX from www.uct.on.ca/
many thanks,

It was a long time ago, I was using CVI. But I thought CVI ships with a low-level port driver.

This link with the referenced links might help:
I Cannot Access the Parallel Port On My Windows 2000/NT Computer with LabVIEW
Using the Parallel Port as an Input/Output Channel

Hope this helps

Hi,

the utility library in CVI has the inp and outp to access the PC's I/O ports. You can probably find examples on the web on how to program the registers of the parallel port controller.
