I am specifying a system that will control a CAN device from some distance (50 ft?) away. What is the maximum length for a CAN cable?

The maximal cable length is depending on the bit rate.
The theoretical maximal length is:
40m at 1Mb/s
100m at 500kb/s
200m at 250kb/s
500m at 100kb/s
1km at 10kb/s
