Problems installing PCI-CAN

I'm attempting to install a PCI-CAN board in my Win98 machine. The board is found, Windows installs the drivers, but under the NI-CAN Diagnostics tool the board fails testing and the problem is reported as "interrupt resource conflict," although Device Manager in Win98 reports no conflicts and reports the board itself is functioning properly, although checking properties for the NI CAN Interface NI-CAN under Device Manager reports "Bad resource assignment status 0005." Any suggestions and remedies are welcome.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

This is an odd error. Try switching PCI slots. The closer to the processor, the better. Also, it may help to remove unused resources. For example, disabling serial ports.
