DS-100A oximeter sensor

Solved!

Hey guys, I have one of these sensors and I wanted to play with it by interfacing it to a cRIO. Does anyone know the pinout/circuit diagram of this sensor? How do I get the signal out of it?

Hi Serges,

I actually found this today while looking because I'm using the same sensor for a school project.

Pin 1, 4, 6, 8 - no connection
Pin 2 - anode of the IR LED, cathode of the red LED - usually red wire
Pin 3 - cathode of the IR LED, anode of the red LED - usually black wire
Pin 5 - phototransistor anode - usually white wire
Pin 7 - shield, connects to copper shield over the phototransistor
Pin 9 - phototransistor cathode - usually green wire

The oximeter applies first one polarity, then the other, to pins 2 & 3 to alternately measure conductance of IR and red light through the patient's finger.

Thanks Patrick. In the meantime, I found the following document which provides a lot more details on how to get data out of the sensor: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/sprab37a/sprab37a.pdf

Have you had any success with your project?
