Greetings fellow LabVIEWers,
I haven't updated my books progress in some time so I figured I would do so now. The book is going to be published on time (Oct. 31st), at this point the book is about 95% completed (all chapters submitted and edited just waiting to do the final look through). Also my book will be featured in the October addition of Robot Magazine so check that out if you want even more information on my book. Here is a bit of information on my book if you want to read it:
Publishing Date: 10-31-2011

Cool! More people should write books about LabVIEW. I am a bookaholic and already have all the good LabVIEW ones.

I've got nothing against Harold, and I wish him the best of luck on his book....
.... but ...
... at what point do these posts become ... advertisements?
I'm asking in order to be fair to everyone who might want to "notify" others of stuff they've done. I don't have anything along those lines, but then others may. The Terms of Use for the site is somewhat vague, in that in only says that "Advertising or offering to sell or buy any goods or services. " is prohibited. Define advertising. I know, for example, that JKI has posted about their toolkits that you need to buy, and I know that I've recommended their use on the LabVIEW forum more than once. But then, I'm making a recommendation for someone to use a product. I make no money from their sale.

I don't want to speak for anyone but I didn't get the impression that smercurio_fc was offended. I think he is just pointing out that it might be a grey area.
It makes me wonder if my recent post about Wikipedia here was cool. I get nothing out of it other than continued use of Wikipedia

Indeed, I am not offended by Harold's post and as I said, I have nothing against you, Harold, and I hope you sell lots and lots of books. I am asking a general question here to get a clarification on what's considered "advertisement", and what's not. To your uncertainty, Steve, there is a distinct difference between your post about Wikipedia and Harold's posts. You have no financial stake in the posting - if people decide to contribute to Wikipedia you get no monetary compensation from it. However, in Harold's case it's quite different - he has something to gain from it. I am not saying he shouldn't do it, I'm asking if there should be a line, and what that line should be.

No issue with the updates per se, I just think it would have made a better story if all of the updates had been contained in a single thread.

I don't mind the updates.
As far as I am concerned is will be the first book coming from one of us since the Exchange started. This is something I want to encourage and am pleased to hear.
Go Harold GO!

Well definately after it is published although I hope Harrold will post an announcement when it is released. That might be pushing it.
NI people, should Harrold post the release announcement?
