That reminds me... I gatta look up that movie with John Candy.

Cool Runnings.

I don't know how it is possible to still miss someone so much that I never met before.

Now, we have to agree that John Candy was great.  Canada deserves at least one pass on the others mentioned for producing him.

Some of the funniest people who have ever lived are on this list. I've always been partial to Leslie Nielsen. Smiley Very Happy All the good ones die too soon. Smiley Sad

This whole thread just reminds me of Five Iron Frenzy's song "Oh, Canada".

For those who don't know FIF, they were a Christian ska band from Denver.  Gave me plenty of good times back in high school.

Thanks Hooovahh!

Leslie William Nielsen, OC was a Canadian-American actor and comedian.

James Doohan was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada.  (for Paul)

We don't mind getting rid of Celine Deyeehon-yeehon-yeehon, Bee-burp, and the crazy guy who's trying to be re-elected as mayor of Toronto..  😛

LOL!

When you said the movie John Candy was in I thought you were refering to "Canadian Bacon", which probably didn't do better at the box office because much of the humor were inside jokes to those living close to either side of the border.

Don't forget Dan Akroyd, from Ottawa.

I love Canadian Bacon and maybe the fact that I have always lived in Michgan explains some of that.

In a decade long-long ago......

I was frequently stopped on the street for my autograph.  Apparently, "You Look just like Dan Akyoyd-- but, younger I guess." is suposed to be a complement.  Out of native Minnesotan pride I attempted to hide the features by adopting a moustache 'a'la' one of Minnesota's favorite actors,  Mike Farrell,  Another South Saint Paul born person of note.

Of significant note:  Mike Farrell's WIKI page does not even show that 'stachSmiley Embarassed--I have been clean shaven for decades since. (And, if anyone else has that front page photo from an un-named Chinese Daily newspaper that convinced me to shave off that god-aweful thing contact me discretely- I will pay to have the photo negative destroyed)
