Grumpy Old Men

Putnam,

I must admit... that I am the culprit..  🙂

50% tongue in cheek.

50% thinking that it might be someone who's knowledge of LabVIEW I admire and have high regards for.

Hey where's that photo?  That didn't look like tsts.....  😮  He (she 😉 ) cheated..  LOL!

I now have to do a search..

So Putnam, you may cast the first stone..  (can't decide which emoticon to put)

Just observations over the years. Basically, if you have nothing positive to say, don't repond. If your inclination is to point out how badly they asked the question, don't respond. Just my opinion. Take it for what its worth. Plenty other of people on the board who may respond if given a chance. Ok, finish this: You may be a grumpy old LabVIEW program if:

A program can be old but can it be grumpy? Oh darn, there I go again trying to understand a poorly worded question.

If we don't understand what help is nedded and ask for clarification, then how is that negative?  You can't be an Engineer 😉  LOL!

You may step in anytime you like.  We don't earn anything by posting.  Please contribute positively to this forum.  😛

My first inclination was to just ignore this thread, and I think everyone else should have as well. I think the poster has succeeded in their goal in just getting the community riled up. I vote to ignore the rest of this discussion and just go watch a movie with Sophia Loren. Yes, even the women.

(Past edit time) Correction: I meant to say to simply ignoring the original message, which I actually had, until I saw that the next day there were enough responses to go into the second page. At that point I decided to allude to not taking the original message seriously and posted a response in that light. I still don't take the message seriously.

I thought the same and avoided it till now. I'll request that the whole thread be locked or at least moved to the Breakpoint board. If the op had even a clue, it would have been posted there in the first place.

I don't necessarily think anyone really got riled up...there seemed to be more humor in the responses than anything else.  As there should be, mind you.  Smiley Happy

You may be a grumpy old LabVIEW program if...

...all of your subVIs use the default icon.

...you contain no subVIs.

...your block diagram sprawls hither and yon, exceeding the screen size in both directions by a goodly margin.

The OP is obviously an alias for some other user that seems to be on this board for some time. As to why to start this thread I can really only guess, but I would assume it is either someone who got scolded at some point for something, or who would like to bump up his post count but always finds the interesting questions already answered by those "grumpy old men".

There is certainly some inclination to post flamebait but it simply seems not to work as easily on this board as elsewhere.
